--- STREET SAVVY Having spent most of her natural born life in poverty Analeigh learned very quickly how to survive. Navigating through the back allies of her neighborhood, stealing what she needed (or wanted for that matter) and learning how to quick talk out of any situation became second nature to her. North Philadelphia isn't a walk in the park so she had to learn the ins and outs just to get through daily life. Adaptability was not an option to Analeigh and because of her knowledge of her surroundings she didn't end up a statistic like so many of her friends. Some days were easier than others, other days were a constant reminder that she was living in a pretty crappy situation. Though she is no quote unquote hood-rat (but can sometimes start sounding like one) she can easily blend into that sort of environment and actually enjoys educating others on the matter. Exposing people to the harsh reality that is North Philly first hand always gave Analeigh something of a joy, especially anyone who thought that it wasn't “as bad” as she made it out to be. This doesn't mean she made it through life unscathed, no that would be unrealistic, but she's still alive isn't she?
--- SAUCY There is nothing sweeter to Analeigh than giving someone a verbal lashing when they deserve it. Sarcasm is a second language to her, she uses it mostly to keep her defenses up not really wanting to get to close to anyone. After loosing so many people in her life she keeps up a wall of jokes, wit and eye rolls as if to put people off. It doesn't always work, and she does have some girls in her dance class she considers a friend but for the most part people get really bored of the constant dry humor she has to bring to the table. Though with that wit comes a certain level of honesty, she'll always be up front with you and if she actually does like you there won't be an eye roll attached to it. Analeigh used to be reprimanded by her parents all the time for not taking anything seriously in conversations, but after a while they just sort of swept it under the rug.
--- SENSUAL It's not always a good thing to realize at a young age that you're pretty. Or even that guys will glance your way when you walk down the street. Worse so in her neighborhood where cat calls, whistles and “Heeeey baby!” being yelled after you were the norm. Analeigh is not a whore by any means, though she loves sex like any other person there is a certain sensuality that oozes out of her pores. This is something she doesn't even try to do anymore, it just comes second nature. It comes out in her dancing as well which has been criticized her entire dancing career. She blames it on her passion, the instructors just assume she's a hussy. It's the way she walks and talks more so than the fact she would put out to just about anyone. It's just another thing she picked up in life; that looks, cute little smirks and a little leg will let you go far in life (or out of trouble). Does she abuse the fact she has a pretty face? Sure but her moral compass isn't exactly shining so she doesn't really think too hard about how manipulation isn't always the nicest thing. In some ways Analeigh feels like she's owed something in life because of her rough upbringing so if she has to manipulate someone to get that then well she fails to see the problem.
--- SNEAKY Should you trust Analeigh? Probably not. Does she want your trust anyway? No. So it's sort of a win, win thing. She'll con a con man right out of his own con if she wanted, it's all just a game sometimes. The game of life is one she'll cheat her way into winning and won't feel bad about it in the process. Her parents were strangely enough not religious, so the morals she learned were from watching the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Why can't she have that nice Dolce and Gabbana dress? Why can't she afford to jet set to Italy? It brought on a certain level of anger towards anyone with money, and she is certainly bitter. Analeigh is not one of those poor kids who just accepts it and becomes a better person in life. No she's the poor kid stealing things, tricking people into giving her things so she can become a better person in life. More so to get ahead. She's gotten very good at being able to steal things, getting caught only a handful of times just added more fuel to the fire about getting whats hers in life.
--- STUBBORN Thick and hot headed a really deadly combination to be inhabiting such a petite person. However size isn't an issue when it comes to Analeigh and she has no problem letting her heated Latina woman side come out. Her temper is quick, it's hot and it's scary. Her thick head is a pro and con in some ways. Sure she'll not forgive you for a month but when it comes to dance she'll stick to something until she has it down perfectly. Her hot temper also gives her a passionate side that will motivate her to just keep going until she is number one. So it's a mixed bag with this aspect of Analeigh, it can go both ways. It's her stubborn side that got her to stick with dancing after all her school mates mocked her, it was the stubborn side that pushed her just that extra hour of practice to get the solo. But it was also the stubborn side that made her not speak to her friend for a month (who was later killed). There is no real definition on if she considers this something that needs to be worked on or keep the way it is. Being the way she is though she's not looking to change...

Before Analeigh could even form a cognitive thought her parents were hopping the fence and headed to a better life in America. Her mother was only two months pregnant with her first and only child as she and her husband ran for their lives. It was a long horrible journey but eventually Ava and Edgar Romero ended up in Philadelphia unable to go any further. Plus it being a large city there was surely to be plenty of opportunity. That was where they were wrong, even in the land of opportunity two no English speaking persons could make it work at first. By the time Analeigh came into the world her parents had already gone through all their funds they had came with. It was the precursor to what was to be her life. The only place they could afford to life was in “the ghetto” so that's why they ended up in North Philly, there was truly nowhere else to go.
By the time Analeigh was five she had seen so much around her it was any wonder she still had something of a normal-ish childhood. The only reason this came to be was because of dancing. Her kindergarten class took a field trip to watch the Nutcracker at Christmas time. The whole beauty of that world captivated her, as it did most kids. But Analeigh knew that's what she wanted to be, that was her fate, her destiny, her way out of hell. She ran home and told her parents that she wanted to be a ballerina. Naturally they couldn't afford it but a local school gave scholarships to those who needed it, to kids like Analeigh who wanted to be a ballerina but couldn't afford it. It was also her first real check of reality that there was a bigger world outside her neighborhood, filled with people that would judge you based on your skin color.
The school was in a nice part of Philly and catered to the middle to middle upper class. Primarily the students were white and there was Analeigh sticking out like a sore thumb. It wasn't bad at first, younger kids don't see color unless you make them, but as she got older she soon realized she was the class “pity case” she heard girls whispering about. Her leotards and shoes were all hand me downs, where the other girls had shiny new things each month it seemed. It was her first encounter of people judging her based on her race and it was only going to get harder from there. Each time she worked her ass off for hours on end to nail a solo in the recital stage moms said it was because the school “had to give it to her”. Each time she was praised for learning something quickly the girls repeated their mothers thoughts. It was at this point in her life she was thankful she grew up rough so she had a backbone in her body to deal with the neigh-sayers.
It didn't end at dance class though, Analeigh's class mates didn't get it either. While they were practicing hip-hop and break dancing she was practicing her pirouettes down the hall. It was endless the teasing and it was enough for even someone as strong as herself to deal with. By the time she was fourteen she had put up such a thick wall that nobody could break it down. She was her own woman in her mind and didn't need friendship just dance. Sure there were people who got her, maybe one or two and she kept them somewhat close but there was no real reason in Analeigh's mind go outside of that comfort zone. It was also at this age she learned very fast how much she could gain just by showing off a little cleavage or smiling just right. Before the new year rang in she had traded in her V-card and found a new tool for her advantage.
The idea of college was something she had never really toyed with. After all college was expensive, and seemed so far out of her league that Analeigh had given up on the idea. Her main goal was to just travel with a small ballet company and go about life that way, possibly moving up to NYC auditioning for the best but that was later in life. What she didn't expect was to end up auditioning for Emerson when she was seventeen. Even more of what she didn't see coming was the fact they offered her a free ride. A full free ride at that it was like nothing she had expected to come her way but there was no way she was going to turn that down. So when she was eighteen she bid the old hood good-bye and headed off to her fresh new start.
Why Emerson?
It was almost by accident that Analeigh ended up auditioning to get it, but they offered her a full scholarship and they were like her golden ticket. She knew that she had no choice but to say 'hell yes!' to the opportunity to do what she loved away from all the negative aspects of growing up where she did.
Sleepovers. Every girl had them as a kid, drinking tons of soda staying up way past your usual bedtime to giggle and share your deepest secrets. It was in fact a right of passage to enjoy many of these between the ages of six and eighteen. However as Teagan put in her last earring she was fighting that inner demon that laughed at her in these situations, why? Because Teagan Olivia Amedas had never in her life been to or had a sleepover. It panged her greatly to think about how truly ignorant she was on this whole matter. Sure she had seen movies and read books but she had long ago written off fiction for any sort of guidance. Sighing and shaking her head she reached for her minimal make-up bag to do some applying. Since rushing the sorority Teagan had learned a few things about girly stuff. Eyeliner had been a difficult road indeed but she had finally got the hang of it. However all of the make-up she was applying were neutral colors nothing that would make her stand out too much. Browns and a neutral shade of lip-gloss was all she needed really. Even more so because it was just a girls night, so there wasn't a need to impress but it was good practice for her none the less. Stepping back to face the full length mirror she examined her appearance one last time she felt satisfied. On her top bunk she had her overnight bag packed with her pajamas, next to it a pillow and a rolled up sleeping bag with Bacon(her trusty stuffed pig) resting on top of her bag. In her bag was some tequila she had managed to score and a bag of Cheetos because she had come to realize when she got a bit tipsy it's what she craved.
Finally feeling ready to take this on head first Teagan grabbed her things and headed out of her closet of a room that she shared with Ambry down to where the sleepover was going to be held. At first she had found the idea pretty silly as they all lived together, because if you lived together everyday was a sleepover. Apparently this was wrong and in order for it to be considered a sleepover you have to all be in the same room sleeping on top of one another if you even slept. No matter it was all apart of the sorority life. One that was scary to Teagan, one that she was constantly worrying they would see through her facade and see her as everyone did in high school. Quite weird stoner girl. So far it wasn't too bad but she had a very icky feeling that tonight that side might come out a little more than usual. There was sure to be drinking, it wouldn't be a DG party without, so she was already trying to push some stuff she didn't want to get out down into as she called it 'safe deposit box' in her brain.
Like the investigation of Sigma Pi she was conduction, in hopes of blowing the lid off their roofie parties and shooting to Ledger stardom in her Freshman year. Teagan didn't trust many people in the Greek system to no try to stop her even the sororities (after all it was one big family) so she had to be very careful about how she got her information. There had been a few leads and way too many dead ends for her liking but that was to be expected. This was a huge reason she was rushing Delta Gamma, but deep down she knew she loved the togetherness, the kinship you can only find when living with a hundred girls. Friendship. Something she never had but craved on a regular bases. Teagan was iffy on the girly-girl stuff but it was still nice to try and embrace her lack of a girly side she had for so long. However there was no chance in hell she would dip too far into it, cheer-leading or any other such activities that would take away from her journalism credibility when she left was out of the question completely.
Which would be why Teagan hadn't really gotten too drunk since she started college. Sure she smoked pot still but that was usually a 'her time' thing. Drinking though was social, drinking meant drunk, which means doing stupid things. Stupid things that get caught on camera and plastered all over Facebook. Nothing in life was sacred anymore when Facebook came to be so she did her best to avoid anything that would make her look... stupid. She wondered though how long that would last seeing as drinking was such an important and prominent aspect of Greek life. No matter she would just have to duck out of the cameras way when she saw one and hope for the best. It was about ten after eight and she knew she was going to catch some sort of hell for being late. Rushees are the bottom feeders so any excuse to rib them was natural.
Teagan heard some girls inside and realized there weren't too many present yet. That was a good sign indeed as she pushed open the door and looked at what was in front of her. Doing her best not to snicker as it looked like hot pink had vomited all over the room she smiled at everyone as she set her things down behind a couch. It didn't look bad, no Blair was too meticulous to have to look anything less than amazing, it was just SO pink. Well seeing as pink was one of their colors it was to be expected (she had incorporated more pink into her wardrobe as the result), the smell of vanilla made her smile though. The small details never went unnoticed here and it added a cute girly touch to it that wasn't too offensive. It was though exactly how Teagan pictured a sleepover to be thanks to books and movies. It put her at ease a bit as she smiled at all the girls, adjusting the elastic in her pony tail nervously. She still had that nervous bit but it would go away soon enough she hoped.
“Hey everyone!” She said in her cool even tone looking around she nodded. “It's so ridiculously pink but it's amazing Blair.” Walking over to the food and drink tables she deposit her contribution (figuring she had to bring something as a rush) she turned to face everyone. This was when she felt stuck the most, when you first arrived what to do? Should she make herself a drink? Should she offer to make everyone's drink? Was it even too soon? Maybe she should munch on something... that would give her hands something to do. Yes good idea. She thought to herself as she looked at the calorie buffet. Teagan took a napkin and put some pretzels on it and walked over to where everyone was gathered. “I'm excited for this, I've never been to a sleepover before.” It was said before she could stop herself how lame did that sound? Damnit. “With this many girls.” Good save ass She thought as she smiled to cover up the fact she was talking too much. Shoving a pretzel in her mouth she hoped nobody else noticed and waited for the others to arrive. “So what's on the agenda?”
