EMILY ANNETTE EVANS
Name: Emily Annette Evans Nicknames: Em, Embily, Age: Sixteen Date of Birth: June 10th Grade: Highschool Sophomore Program: Arts Orientation: Bisexual Nationality: Caucasian Home Town: Boston Play by:
--- TEASE. Emily has quite the reputation for being a tease. In every sense of the word. She likes to poke fun of people, offering playful jibs and jokes. Of course she never intends to hurt anyone’s feelings with her words, there have been more then several accounts of when her teasing has actually offended someone. She’s never sure how to take it when someone gets upset; she’s not great with dealing with emotions she deems silly. The caramel haired girl usually feels like rolling her eyes and telling them a sense of humour, but she knows that would only just makes matters worse. Instead she settles for trying to shrug it off, and make another joke.
In the other sense of the word, Emily is rather skilled. A lot of males can credit their very blue balls to Emily Evans. She takes pleasure in it really. Working a man up, watching him salivate and try his best come ons, only to leave him ‘high and dry’ (no pun intended.... Oh, okay, pun a little intended). Emily likes to call the shots really, you have to impress her to get into her pants, and if she’s not impressed then she’ll really just toy with you until she’s amused then flounce away, giggling as she went. And to be honest, she likes being chased. If you give it away all too soon; no one will have a chance to actually lust after you.
--- IMPULSIVE. Emily doesn’t tend to plan things. She belongs to the ‘leave it to chance’ school of thought. If you go with the flow, act on a whim, you’d be amazed at what can happen in your life. No one can plan every detail, or any detail for that matter. There are too many variables in life to fight against, so why bother? It’s okay to have goals, but you have to be flexible with them. Besides which, when you live without planning, you never get disappointed when things don’t happen. And you never regret things you didn’t do.
While some of her notions about how to live life may be valid, there is a flaw in her logic. When you act on whims, you often do things without thinking; there’s just no time to think or the whim will pass. When you don’t think things through, you can often get yourself in all sorts of trouble. Fun, but trouble none the less. Emily doesn’t often consider the consequences of what she’d doing. It’s really the last thing on her mind. It has gotten her into all sorts of trouble in the past, and probably will do in the future. Even as intelligent as she is, she doesn’t really seem to learn from her mistakes.
--- INTELLIGENT. A trait that is mostly hidden for Emily is her intelligence. Most people would be surprised by her brain. Which isn’t a surprise; she doesn’t come across as a rather smart girl. In fact she knows she comes across as a silly bint, what with her obsession with clothes, her love of parties, and her appetite for doing out-landish things. It’s rather fun though, surprising people. She doesn’t need to put in much effort at school to maintain fairly decent grades. Which frustrates teachers. How can she write such insightful papers on the themes of Pride and Prejudice yet she won’t participate in class or apply herself.
Along with her intelligence is a sense of deepness. She sees things that others don’t. Like the simple beauty in a falling leaf, or how the look between that boy and girl meant so much more than anyone else would ever think. She doesn’t find that many people respond to her deepness, so she doesn’t offer it that often. When she does meet someone though, that she doesn’t need to always be so flirty and fun loving with, the revels in it. Those people aren’t exactly found every day though. That, and most people that gain an interest in Emily aren’t really into her for her mind.

Being pregnant changes your life- well, at least for some people. Your world readjusts and you start to make decisions based on your un-born child, not yourself. For Candice Evans, however, she was determined not to let it affect her lifestyle. The woman was thirty-three weeks pregnant when she boarded a flight to Paris with her husband, Clifford. It was a holiday they had booked and paid for before they’d known about the ‘little bundle of joy’ and dammit the woman was not letting the fact she was expecting ruin her holiday. Emily was born early, two weeks later, rendering the mother bed-ridden for the rest of her trip after a particularly stress-full labour. And really? Emily didn’t think her mother ever really forgave her for ruining the holiday. Candice had always been a selfish woman.
As the holiday destination would suggest, Em was born into a particularly well off house-old. They weren’t ridiculously wealthy like those kids you may see on The OC or Gossip Girl, but they definitely had cash to burn. And Candice’s favourite way to burn that cash was to turn her daughter into all the things that she had never done but always wanted. Violin, Piano, French lessons, Horse Riding, Dance, Gymnastics and the most important of all; beauty pageants. As a child she barely had time to breath, with all the extra curricula activities her mother tried to make her do. Of course, not all of these came at the same time, but it was enough to drive anyone crazy. The two consistent activities were dance and beauty contests. One her mother’s wishes and one Emily’s. One she loved and one she hated, giving up the moment she turned fourteen and she could use the fact her father left and her mother was a mess to get out of it. You work out which.
Have you ever experienced one moment of pure and complete bliss? One moment when everything in life clicked into place and made sense? Emily knew that moments like that were rare, which was why she cherished hers. It happened so subtly; she was doing something she had done a million times since she was four and her mother sent her do dance lessons. Nothing was special at all about the occasion, at least nothing she could pin-point. She was at a party, eyes closed, swaying to herself to the music. She still doesn’t understand why she had such an incredible wave of peace in that moment, but even with all those un-answered questions, it was the best moment in her life.
I know, cliché story, but Emily’s worst memory involved being let down by her father. She’d idolized him as a young child; simply loved him. But he had never exactly been a huge emotional support in her life. He missed her dance recitals, barely knew any of her friends names, and had even been known to miss her birthday. Still though, she kept hoping that maybe things would get better- they didn’t though. When she was fourteen, her father left her mother- for another man. Emily can vividly remember sitting on the stairs. Cheeks tear stained, watching the man busy himself with packing up his belongings. He’d walked past her at least seven times, before he really even saw her there, and all the man had to say was “Oh! Em. Scared me. Have you seen my bath-robe? You’re mother swears it’s in the hall closet but I can’t seem to find it..” She likes to pretend she doesn’t mind anymore, but each time he cancels on her, or forgets to call, it breaks her heart just that little bit more.
Fourteen was actually perhaps a turning point in Emily’s life. While she always had tendencies towards certain things, her father leaving their family for another man worked as a catalyst. Spurring Emily towards parties, drinking and boys. Boys of the wrong sort who she subconsciously used to resolve her father issues. It was so cliché that if she realised that was what she was doing she’d probably have been highly embarrassed. Her mother couldn’t handle her, so she was sent away to boarding school. Things settled for Em, but those were rather vital years of development and had a rather large impact on who she was becoming. She stopped bedding down with just anyone before she turned sixteen, but she’d already learnt that sex was rather meaningless. She’d also learnt that people let you down, and having expectations of things only led to being disappointed.
