--- TRUSTWORTHY Trevor is honest, reliable, dependable, and worthy of anyone's confidence. Those are just a few words to describe the fact that Trevor Ryland Mathis is trustworthy and a man of his word. If he says that he is going to do something, he will do it without questions or qualms. He's the one you can depend on when push comes to shove and will give you the shirt off of his back if that is the only thing he has to give at that moment. His father taught him at an early age to be respectful and to keep his manners at all costs. He said that a man only has one thing that is ever truly his, and that's his word. Trevor had a sense of responsibility instilled in him from an early age and has since worked his hardest to mean what he says. --- PROTECTIVE Trevor strives to take care of his own and will take a bullet for anyone who he deems under his protection. He may not show it all the time, but Trev is someone who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve and when he loves, he loves with his whole heart and soul. This can be considered a great vulnerability to a guy like himself because it leaves him open to disappointment and anguish but he figures that it is a small price to pay in light of the love he receives and is able to share in return. --- TALENTED Trevor may not look like much on the outside, but his mind is a completely different story. To try and comprehend the inner workings of such a complex brain would probably baffle anyone. He is constantly thinking up new ideas and this tends to make him restless. He has an eye for chemistry between people and he notices that slightest quirks that make a person who they are. People watching is a favorite past time of his and, ever since he was a child, he had created stories for the people he met on the street. He used to try and write short stories to try and express what he saw in his mind but he found it difficult and often frustrating when he was unable to put his images into words. Because of this, he decided to look into the film industry. That was where he found his one true calling, putting his images into motion pictures that truly expressed what he saw in his mind's eye.

Trevor Ryland Mathis was born on January ninth in Dublin, Ireland to the parents of Samuel Liam Mathis and his wife, Jada Marie Mathis. But, before his story can be told, his parents have to meet. Samuel was a small town Irish boy who actually grew up in Ireland but had family in Texas. Houston, to be exact. Cousins on top of cousins had settled down there and had raved about the atmosphere. Samuel, never having been outside of his hometown of Dublin, decided, at the age of seventeen, to have himself a visit to the States. While on his trip, a holiday of sorts, he met a young woman by the name of Jada Marie Hamilton. She was unlike anything he had ever laid eyes on and her southern charm drew him in. Once she did that, he was a goner and there was nothing he could do. At the tender age of seventeen, he was in love for the first time and he knew it would be the one and only time. Having graduated months before, Samuel decided to stay in the States with Jada and their love only blossomed further. After having dated for two and a half years, the two of them decided to marry. And, on May seventeenth, the young couple came together in holy matrimony, exactly three years from the day they first met.
A year later, Samuel convinced his new wife to travel with him to his homeland of Ireland so that she could see where he had grown up and really get to know his past. Whilst living there, the two of them conceived and welcomed into the world a bouncing baby boy by the name of Trevor Ryland. The couple couldn't have been happier. And, to this day, the couple still remains quite proud of their first born boy. Even after having three other sons and a daughter in the years in between. Cody Austin Mathis, 19. Gabriel Liam Mathis, 18. Jason Ryan Mathis, 18. And, Lauren Jada Mathis, 17. The brood moved back to Houston when Trevor was just three years old.
Trevor's childhood was pretty normal to say the least. Walking and talking and potty training were all on time, maybe even a little early for his age because he had always wanted to be on the go, even when all he was able to do was crawl and babble. He tried playing sports at a young age and was fairly good at almost anything he played. Soccer and football were the two sports that he excelled at most and, at the age of twelve, he even wrote and produced a documentary about his football team for a sponsorship request. That was the same year that Trevor broke his arm in three places, ending his quarterback career at such a young age. He was devastated but he knew where his real talent lay so, once he was out of his cast, or even before then, he dove into film creation even further than he had ever gone before. He started out making stop motions films where he had to move each piece about a centimeter at a time and take a snap shot. Honestly, it was the most nerve wracking time of his life once his football career had ended. However, he was never completely alone in the creative process. His best friend Benjamin Marshall, whom he had known since they were about three years old, always had a script idea or a storyline that they could follow. So the duo worked for years, moving from stop motion to general films until the two of them branched off into their two separate fields of work while still coming together at times to collaborate and create something out of fun. Trevor promised Ben that once they graduated from college, he would film one of his pieces so he could become recognized as something more than just a creative writer. When it came time for their high school graduation, the two of them made a pact to attend the arts school in Philadelphia. And, because of that, the two of them are seniors there today.
Being stuck on that plane for a little over ten hours had given Benry a lot of time to think. It had given his mind time to wander and pull up random memories and odds and ends that he had stored away long ago. One of which was the memory of his first deployment. Shiloh had been so terrified that he would lose him that Benry had almost been convinced not to go. But, he'd convinced himself to suit up and stick to his commitment, despite Shiloh's protests. The younger male had been scared that he would die and Benry could have decked the morons who had fed the boy those thoughts. Benry knew that every time he left, there was a chance that something would happen. However, there was just a great of chance of him getting killed in the States. If he let that risk keep him locked up inside of his home, he would never have lived the life he was leading now. He never would have met Shiloh. And that was unacceptable. As the love of his life had began to bawl before him, Benry had taken him into his strong arms and pressed gentle, tender kisses to his forehead as he shushed his sobs and did his best to comfort him, reassuring him that he would come back and that he wouldn't die because he knew that Shiloh would be waiting for him. Just before he'd let the boy go, he'd taken his hands and kissed his knuckles before pressing a kiss to the center of each palm. Once that was done, he'd placed one of his palms flat against his own chest, allowing Shiloh to feel his heartbeat. Yours. He'd said. Benry had kissed him then, much to the onlookers' disgust, placing all of himself and his promises into it. After that, he'd walked away and gotten onto the plane, looking over his shoulder the whole time.
Benry flashed back to reality as he heard the shower cut off and his eyes followed the younger boy as he disappeared into the kitchen. Once he heard the toaster being set, Benry followed Shiloh into the room and slowly snuck up on him. Silently, he wrapped his arm around the boy's waist and pulled his smaller frame into his strong, protective one. He spoke up, announcing his arrival and the tension he'd felt in the smaller boy a mere second ago disappeared. Shiloh nearly shrieked his name as he twisted in Benry's arms and launched himself into him, wrapping his legs and arms around him. Benry laughed and held the boy close as he questioned him, asking when he had gotten back and why he hadn't told him. He could tell that Shiloh was excited and close to tears with the happiness he felt. In all honesty, Benry was the same way at that exact moment. The joy of having the one he loved in his arms again after being gone for so long was nearly crippling. He couldn't believe that he was actually back here, in his kitchen, with Shiloh clinging to him for dear life. This was what Benry lived for. It really was.
"About a half hour ago." he said as Shiloh's legs dropped from around his waist and he lowered himself to the ground, keeping his arms around his neck so that the two males were chest to chest with Benry looking down at him with his arms around the boy's waist. Benry was the taller of the two and he loved that fact. "I didn't tell you because I wanted it to be a surprise." he said, holding the guy close, reveling in the warmth he radiated from his smaller frame. Sighing softly, he lowered his head and kissed him gently. One of many that he planned on retrieving while he was home. Bringing his head back up after a moment, he met the younger boy's gaze and grinned. "God, I missed you." he admitted, pressing his forehead to Shiloh's. He had truly missed being home and being right here, in Shiloh's arms. He didn't care about all of the ragging he took or the epithets that were thrown at him because he was a soldier and had a boyfriend. It was his life and he could do whatever the hell he pleased. Benry had more than other guys in his unit could say they had. He had a significant other who was loyal to him, even when he was deployed. He had someone to come home to, someone to fight for. And it felt wonderful. "How have you been, baby?" he asked, kissing him once more.
