Trevor had been watching frame after frame of his newest film, NO REGRETS, JUST LOVE and he had to say, it was pretty nice. And not just because had been the one to write it, produce it, film it, and was now the editor. Yeah, it was a one man show as far as the technicalities went. The actors he'd found were phenomenal and he couldn't have asked for a better crew to perform and bring his work to life. They're personalities meshed so well that the couples in the different scenes had actually seemed real. When in reality, none of them were in a relationship with the person they had been paired with. At least, they hadn't been then. But now, it truly was love because a few people had gotten together after the show was said and done, the couples who had seemed perfect on tape had actually gotten together in real life. Trevor felt kind of responsible for the pairings, as if he was a match maker of a sort. He hadn't planned on that happening when he had put the cast together, but what could he do? If those couples worked out, they would be perfect to use in other films later on, whenever the inspiration hit him with the ferocity of an Impala, the car, not the antelope. Although, Trevor was sure that getting side swiped by the animal would also hurt like hell. After something like that, he would probably have to ice the front-bum or whatever those cosmic girls called it. They were so wrapped up in that British band to the point that it wasn't even funny.
With a sigh, he pried his mind away from the random masses of information in his mind and made himself refocus on the screen before him. He tapped a few keys and entered a few commands, watching as the program made a few changes right before his very eyes. Impressive, he thought. Switching screens while that transition chugged away, he looked over a few of the later scenes and laughed out loud when the male lead, Zak whose character name was Ryan, used the term breasticles in reference to a girl (the female lead, Cali, whose character name was Anna) he had just met as he tried to describe her to his best friend, Keegan whose character name was Tripp. (Zak and Cali were currently dating in the real world.) That line was followed by a zinger, causing Trevor to laugh aloud once more as bow-chicka-wow-wow pierced the air, thanks to the character Tripp. Taking a short break for a moment, he switched screens and typed in a few more commands, watching the screen for a moment to ensure that everything was going okay before he went back to his current viewing pleasure. With a grin, he placed his hands behind his head and leaned back in his chair, his eyes glued to the scenes playing out before him. His mind wandered for a moment and he started to wonder where the hell Ben was. Benjamin Isaac Marshall was his best friend and had been since the two of them were about three years old, give or take a few months. Yes, that meant the two of them had been attached at the hip for almost eighteen years. And counting. It was madness.
Trevor had originally been born in Dublin, Ireland where his father had grown up and his family had lived there for a little over three years before they decided to move back to Houston, Texas where his mother had spent most of her life. He had also learned, as he had gotten older, that his father had also had roots in Texas, due to tons of cousins who had left Ireland and had settled down in that Texas town. A few months after the Mathis clan had moved back, Trevor had been enrolled in day care while his parents worked. This was where he had the fortune of meeting Benjamin. A kind of quiet guy who enjoyed reading and telling stories. Trevor, somewhat of the opposite at times, had instantly made it his life's mission (at the age of three of all things) to befriend that shy kid and make him his best friend. It hadn't taken him all that long before the boys had been attached to each other and had done everything together. He quickly learned, as they got older, that Benjamin was the emotional kind of guy who Trevor had learned to look out for. He would beat the hell out of anyone who dared to try and make fun of Benjamin and the fact that he had two fathers and no mother. Trevor, long since knowing that, had never had a problem with it, and that meant that no one else could either.
Sighing once more, Trevor sat up and brought himself back to reality with a quick cough. Looking at the screen, he realized that it was the make out scene between Ryan and Anna. Good Lord, how long had he been out of it like that? With a shake of his head, he slid his phone out of his pocket and checked the time. Not even about ten minutes. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he typed out a text to Ben. "The hell are you, man? "Meet me in the editing suite. Trev." he wrote. Satisfied, he sent the message off and looked at the screen again, the image still frozen on the screen. The main character, Ryan, had been based on Benjamin in a few ways and himself as well. However, Trevor was more of the character Tripp in the story. And, even though the characters had the personalities of both himself and his best friend, he didn't have the heart to tell Ben, knowing that the fact that Ben's character, Ryan, had gotten the girl while the real Ben...was oddly single. Tragic really. Shaking his head once more, he flipped the scenes back to where it captured his and Ben's personalities best. If his best friend were to see this scene, it would probably clue him in to the fact that it was them. Maybe. If the bow-chicka-wow-wow had anything to do with it.

Had he been a different sort of guy, Benjamin might have teased his best friend for calling a film ‘No Regrets, Just Love. Told him the whole idea was gay or something. However Ben was not a different sort of guy. He was the sort of guy who didn’t use the word gay as an insult or even comment on anyone’s sexuality. It just wasn’t how he rolled. Growing up the way he did, taught Ben a lot about tolerance and the like. He was, however, surprised that his best friend had made a film about love. Ben liked to wax poetic about romance in his writing, but he supposed he expected Trevor to be a little more concerned with the pre-assumed gender roles. Though- that being said, his best friend was a big old softy for romance, so it did make a bit of sense. He’d seen the way Trevor longingly watched him and Carina cuddling some nights. The poor guy just wanted some cuddles. Cuddles were good, he had to admit.
Maybe Ben should offer him some cuddles? Ben was completely at ease with his sexuality that he wouldn’t say no to cuddling Trevor if he wanted. It wasn’t like there was anything romantic about it. It was the same way you’d hug your brother or your father. He’d known Trevor for so long and they were closer then brothers so why would it be out of place? Ben didn’t buy into any of that stuff about guys not showing other guys affection. It was stupid, really. Honestly, the young man believed that the attitude behind men not showing affection was just homophobic. That was another debate though that wasn’t exactly needed at this particular time. At the moment, the fact was, he probably needed to clock some good bro time with Trevor, make sure he was doing okay. It was what a good bro did, and Benjamin was a good bro.
Which was what he was on his way to do. Ben was supposed to meet his best friend in the editing suite. Only, he was running rather late. It wasn’t his fault, perse. It was more that he had been rather side-tracked. The boy had been sitting in the dorm, singing very off-key to ’Granger Danger’. He wasn’t the best singer, and he knew it was kind of nerdy, but he was enjoying himself, and he’d merely just lost track of time. Then there was the issue of finding pants. Because, obviously he had been sitting around in his boxers. Which wasn’t exactly leaving the dorm appropriate now was it? While Ben liked things neat, he had dorm mates that weren’t so neat. And a best friend who liked to borrow his jeans. He’d had to riffle through Trevor’s washing to find his trusty old levi’s.
Once he had been correctly dressed though, the boy had grabbed his phone and left the dorm. Heading towards F block. He had been halfway across the grounds when he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. Stopping in his strides, the boy fished out the device to check the message. Smiling, Ben’s eyes ran down the message, taking in the gist of it. Poor Trev, he must be getting impatient. Quickly, he typed out his reply: dude, on my way, got side-tracked. Pressing send, he watched for the graphic that let him know that the text had indeed sent. Once he saw the confirmation, Benjamin locked his phone, slipping it back into his pocket. He should stop taking his sweet time. Poor Trevor. Picking up his pace, Ben used his long limbs to his advantage and took large strides.
Before long, the tall young man was making his way though F block, then into the editing suite. “Sorry, I’m here, I’m here.” He grinned, grabbing a spare chair and flopping down next to Trevor. “Sup?”

As Trevor's cellphone buzzed in his pocket, he felt a satisfied grin come over his handsome face even before his hand pulled the device out so he could see the message that had come through. When he finally did retrieve the piece of equipment, he grinned even more as he saw that the message was from Ben, letting him know that he was on his way and saying that he had become distracted. Trevor knew that his best friend was going to take his sweet damned time so he didn't bother with getting impatient. He had been friends with the guy long enough to know that no one dictated when and when Benjamin Isaac Marshall did something. Trevor himself was the same way most of the time. Unless, of course, he felt like being submissive. In which case, that was normally something he saved for coitus, with a woman, of course. He may have the whole 'bromance' thing going on with Ben but that was about as far as it went when it came to the male persuasion. No, wait, that was DEFINITELY as far as it went in that direction of things. Man, he really needed to get laid, didn't he? Shaking his head, he chuckled to himself, only to be drawn from his moment of the sunshine twins on uppers as he heard the door creek open to his left. He groaned at his own sense of nerdom and accepted his fate for yet the umpteenth time in his life.
Benjamin entered swiftly, grabbed a chair, and dropped down beside him, apologizing and announcing that he was here, followed by a 'sup?' Trevor looked at him for a moment and rolled his eyes before grinning at the guy. "Finally finished this damned piece." he told Ben with a nod of his head towards the screen. The damned NO REGRETS, JUST LOVE piece that he had been working on for weeks now was finally closing in on the final editing process and would be ready for viewing in a matter of days. Trevor was honestly and thoroughly satisfied with his work. He tapped a few keys almost absent-mindedly and turned his attention back to the male currently next to him. "And what about you, dude? What took your ass so long?" he asked brashly though he was completely in a joking kind of mood as he ribbed his best friend. "Getting some velvet crevice?" he asked bluntly, grinning as he did so, joking with the guy all over again. Trevor said what was on his mind, he always had and he always would. He was honest and, sometimes, more often than not, he was quite blunt with it. He hated to sugar coat things unless he was doing it to protect someone or himself. Benjamin knew by the undertone of Trev's voice that he was completely in a ribbing kind of mood, as he usually was, and he knew that Ben understood the fact that Trevor was basically...a freak of nature.
Trevor honestly could not remember a time where he didn't think of something sexual at least per every...ten seconds? Except possibly when he had been under the age of ten. Around that time, he figured, he had been a pretty neutral, sane kind of kid who kept his innocence close to his heart. But now, not so much. Trevor was twenty one years old, a senior in college, and he really didn't give a damn about his innocence. That had long flown out the window. He shook his head to himself and turned his attention back to the guy he called his best friend, awaiting his response. Dammit, he was such a creeper, wasn't he? Trevor turned his mind away from his own creepiness and watched Benjamin intently. The guy was basically his foil, if he wanted to put it into literary terms, which really wasn't his area of expertise. Ben was the literary god between the two of them, however, that had never stopped Trevor from trying to outdo the guy in his own craft. Trev loved a good challenge. Ugh. Was he ADD or something? Why the hell were his thoughts so scrambled and rambly right now? Ugh. It went back to that whole getting laid theory...

Ben didn’t think in terms of sex. I mean, he was human so of course he thought about sex. Everyone thought about sex sometimes. That was all perfectly natural. What he didn’t really consider, was the fact that sex could fix things. Point in case when he considered all his friend needed to feel less lonely was a snuggle and some friend time. Not that he needed to dip his wick or whatever the kids were calling it these days. Sure, he knew that sex was good. He liked having sex. He just never considered it the answer to a problem. Well, unless the problem was that you wanted sex.. Hm, now Ben was confused. Darn his over-active mind. It was always back-tracking on itself, confusing the poor man. Okay, his point was that loneliness shouldn’t be fixed by sex, because it only really made you feel better for a while, then things were just as bad.
Benjamin grinned. He always took an active interest in his best friend’s work. That what friends did for one another- supported you and built you up. It wasn’t hard to support Trevor. The kid was a talented little Film maker, and Ben would have thought so even if they weren’t best friends. “Awesome, man!” He gave a grin, clapping the other guy on the shoulder. “I’m stoked to see it. It’s all you seem to talk about lately.” The last part was meant as a teasing jib, but it truth Ben was glad his best friend had a distraction. He knew he’d not long broken up with Giovana. Break-ups were tough, and it was times like that, when a guy just needed to do something with himself so he didn’t sit and over-think and analyse everything. Okay, so maybe it was only Ben who’d obsess over all his mistakes, but still.
Rolling his eyes, the boy gave his best friend a light shove. “Man are you a perv or what?” He laughed as he spoke, shaking his head a little. Actually, truth be told, Trevor would know if Benjamin was getting lucky. It wasn’t a usual occurrence, and something Ben would never hesitate to tell Trevor. What, don’t look at me like that! They are best friends. It’s not like he went about bragging to everyone. A guy could still tell his best friend and look like a gentleman couldn’t he? “You know very well that you’d know if I was... what did you call it?” He raised an eyebrow. Sometimes Trevor came up with the strangest things. Perhaps it was for a very good reason that he was the writer, and the other boy was not. Ben just had a way with words. He always had.
The taller boy paused. Uh. Right. Now he had to actually tell Trevor where he had been? Or well, what had distracted him. Because that wasn’t awkward at all. ‘Her bro I was just singing along to a really lame harry potter related song, because I like books aimed at kids’. Ben frowned for a moment. Yeah no. He couldn’t say that. What could he say though? Raising an eyebrow, Ben merely shrugged. “Youtube, sidetracked. You know...”

Trevor felt Ben's enthusiasm just as much as he felt the slap on his back as he told his best friend that he was finally finished with the film he had been working on for weeks. He was rather proud of the piece and it felt great to have his friend just as proud. The guy commented that it was awesome and he was stoked to see it because that was all he had talked about lately. Literally, the past few weeks. Trevor stuck his tongue out at him and then laughed. "Well, you could view it now if you like." he said as the program beeped, awaiting more commands. He was finished with it, all editing had been done, and he knew that it was going to be amazing. Not that he was tooting his own horn or anything, he was just...proud and excited and overjoyed and...tired. Exhausted, honestly.
Once the joy had seemingly died down, Trevor looked at his best friend with a knowing, playful scowl as he asked the guy where he had been, commenting/asking if he had been getting laid earlier. Benjamin rolled his eyes at him and gave him a shove, asking if he was a perv or what. Trevor laughed, "Or what." he answered with a grin. Of course, Trevor would know if Ben had gotten laid recently or if he was going to in the near future because, well, he was not only his best friend, but his roommate and, alas, he and whoever the lucky girl was, needed a place to...do it. Yeah, that was the nicest, most clean way Trevor could put it. Ben commented that he would know if he was...getting whatever Trevor had called it. That confirmed Trev's thought about him knowing, because Ben would have told him. Not in a bragging way but just in a...well, Trevor wasn't quite sure. "You know exactly what I said." he said, teasingly.
After a moment, the guy responded in what seemed like an honest manner. Ah, yeah, Youtube. The guy uttered it as if it were a bad thing, along with the word sidetracked. Trevor could only guess. Literally, he could. With a shake of his head, Trevor laughed, "Yeah, sidetracked alright." he said, shoving Benjamin as the guy had done him a moment before. Trevor was definitely more open about his sexuality than Benjamin was and he guessed that was why the guy was okay with it. Ben needed to come out, or rather...not come out to his dads about his being straight but the guy just hadn't gotten the guts to do so just yet. Benjamin had his fathers believing that he was homosexual, as they were, but deep down, both of the boys knew that wasn't the case in the slightest. Benjamin was a hot-blooded male with a lust for the ladies. Just as Trevor was. Ugh, dammit. What was with his mind and sex right now? He was definitely living up the stereotypical idea that a guy could think of nothing but sex every ten seconds. However, he had met his quota for now and knew that he needed to shut his mind down before it traveled any farther down that path. But, he was at a loss as to how to do such a thing.

Ben rolled his eyes. Yeah, he had heard what is best friend had said, but he had been hoping it was wrong. Dayam, Velvet Crevice? That was really kind of pervy and disgusting. In fact, that summed up Trevor. Ha. Ben laughed inwardly at the burn his mind had just issued his best friend. He considered saying it aloud, however the chance of Trevor actually being offended was slim, compared to the chance of the other young man laughing his ass off and trying to come up with many more euphemisms, just to prove Ben right. Ben wasn’t exactly in the mood for that, so he chose to keep his thoughts silent. Instead he just rolled his eyes, a look of distaste on his features. Now he had visions of velvet underpants and front wedgies. Not fun, actually. Or well, a little bit fun. But eh.
Still trying to shake his the images from his head, Ben tried to focus on his friend’s movie. He really was excited to see it, and he didn’t have anything else going on right now, so why not? Eyes glinting with delight, Ben gave a small chuckle. “Boy am I lucky..” he teased his best friend, wiggling his eyebrows up and down. “Must have slept with the director or something, because I’ve got me a private advanced screening of the next big Hollywood movie..” He paused, smirking to himself. “Or at least the next big thing on the film circuit.” Ben really should be more careful what he said. There had been rumours a year or so back there had been some rumours that Ben and Trevor were, well, more than just friends. Ben had laughed it off, as it was all just really amusing. Still though, it didn’t mean he needed to fuel the fire with little jokes like that. It could get people talking again.
Settling into his chair, Ben got himself ready to watch his friend’s masterpiece. However a thought accrued to him. What was watching a movie if you had no snacks to enjoy? Ben loved watching a good movie while pigging out. It was just how you watched movies. “Hey bro, if we are going to do this, let’s do it right yeah?” He raised his eyebrow at his best friend. “You know, Order Pizza, maybe even put it on a big screen somewhere. Have the real ‘cinema experience’. What do you say?” He tugged a very puppy-like expression to his features. That usually only worked on girls, but it was worth a try on Trevor right?
