KAORU YUYA SUN
Name: Kaoru Yuya Sun Nicknames: Kao, Kaleth [artist name] Age: 20 Date of Birth: December 21st Grade: Junior, College Program: Arts Orientation: Homosexual Nationality: Korean Home Town: Seoul, Korea Play by: Miyavi
--- ENERGETICDespite the fact he’s seen a lot of things and already been through a great many things Kaoru’s a relatively energetic and cheery guy. Kao’s always smiling no matter what, and he’s very easy to get along with. Kaoru’s flirty, fun loving and forever having something in his mouth. No not in a dirty way, Kao’s a former smoker so to keep himself from smoking he’s constantly sucking a lollipop, or having hard candies, or pretty much anything sweet. And the constant stream of sweets keeps him even more hyper and energetic. Kaoru seems very light hearted, and if he’s interested in someone Kao’ll definitely make his interest obvious. He always appears very happy-go-lucky, good natured and carefree, and has a tendency to call people by odd nicknames. There is rarely a moment where Kaoru isn't doing something, whether it be chatting with people or wandering about outside, he is always finding ways to keep busy. Especially with his hands, in fact, while sitting in classes, if he's not taking notes he can usually be seen doodling or even doing origami, techniques he learned from his nanny, who was from Japan. To balance out Kao's energy, he does eat a lot, in fact at the rate he eats most people would assume he would be far heavier, however he was fortunate to be born with a fantastic metabolism that allows him to burn off calories with ease, not to mention with his bouncy persona he really goes through calories like their nothing. Yet another excuse for him to enjoy eating ridiculous amounts of sweets.
--- SENSITIVE While Kaoru’s friendly and energetic, he’s also a very sensitive soul, Kao paints things that speak to him and things he finds beautiful. Kaoru’s very prone to having his feelings hurt, and when Kao’s particularly affected by something he usually just pierces something new or gets a new tattoo or does something with his hair. Kaoru can go through moods where he withdraws into himself, particularly if it’s raining. Kaoru has never had too much luck as far as of relationships go, and this is another reason he tends to just flirt, however it has affected him to the depths of his being. He isn't really a guy who just sleeps around for no reason, he has a tendency for developing attachments far too easily and then getting his heart broken. All of this is reflected in his paintings and works of art, always full of delicate and beautiful things. In fact his sensitivity isn't limited to just people, Kao's the kind of guy who see's a stray and brings it home with him, just because he could never leave it sitting on the side of the road. He has such fondness for animals that he actually refuses to eat animals, he's vegetarian borderline vegan, he will not eat meat, drink milk or eat eggs. Kaoru views it as cruelty towards animals, and that is one thing he is completely against. Kaoru is also a pacifist, refusing to get involved with anything violent.
--- DECEITFUL Kaoru, in all his sweet and friendly nature, is actually quite a deceitful person, to the few who can actually see through the smile, they will realize that his smiles are just a way of keeping people at arm’s length. Kaoru’ll be friendly even flirt with them, but it’s rare for him to open up to people and actually tell them how he feels or what he’s thinking. Kao never speaks of the past and is very prone to giving enigmatic answers when asked about it. Kao draws lines when it comes to dealing with other people, he rather dislikes them getting to close because he's not a confident person, and he rather dislikes the person he views himself as. He'll smile, flirt, irritate people and goof around, but that is pretty much all you will ever get from him. Kaoru is stubborn to the point of foolishness when it comes to dealing with people and refusing to open up. He'll offer people sweet words, and comfort, while adamantly refusing to accept any sort of aid for himself. And despite his calm and cheerful facade he is really quite restless, often doing things that put him at risk without a worry in the world. Kao rarely acts serious, but when he does you can be sure that something must be wrong. It's a very rare thing for any one to ever be allowed to see past the smile, and Kaoru generally seems to like things to be this way. In fact he finds it rather startling if anyone sees through him, or calls him out on his eccentric and often conflicting behaviors.

Kaoru's story begins long before he was born, with his parents. His mother was a Japanese musician, Miwako, his father a Korean musician, Jin. The two met when Jun went over to Japan to do a collaboration with Miwako. They bonded over their music, and quickly fell in love, they married young and had a happy few years of marriage before Miwako found herself pregnant, she didn't slow down however in the least, and eight and a half months later she went into premature labor, and gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who she named Kaoru Yuya Sun, unfortunately there was a bled that had started during the birthing progress, one that somehow was completely missed. And a few short hours later found Jin holding his new born son, and weeping over his wives body. He resented the birth of his son, since the boy had taken away the woman he loved while their love was still young and new. Unable to cope, he threw himself back into his music, obsessing over constantly creating new and more beautiful music. He hired a Japanese woman to take care of his son, unable to bear looking at the boy who looked remarkably like his wife. The nanny, Shiori, took good care of Kao, raising him as if he were her own, she taught him to walk, talk, how to dress himself, and anything else he needed to know to become a proper young man. She taught him to speak both Korean, and Japanese, how to do origami, and was the person who got Kaoru started in the arts.
She was the mother Kao had never gotten to meet, and he was very much attached to her, she was the person who was always there for him, even when his father waved him off. He began elementary school when he was six, and while his father barely spoke to him, he made sure his son would get the finest education, after all he was the son of Jin Sun, the renowned musician and he could hardly afford to have a stupid child. At a young age he was learning very difficult things, and from a young age Kaoru hated it, he enjoyed learning English, and furthering his Japanese knowledge, he wasn't too fond of the increasingly difficult math, and history and the like. But he studied his hardest, struggling to maintain the grades his father demanded, he also struggled with making friends since he was spending so much of his time studying and doing his best to score as highly as possible. He began to withdraw into himself, but found his outlet in his art and in Shiori, who was always there to talk to him and offer him a shoulder to lean on. He struggled through his primary years, taking the courses the high level primary school demanded of their young charges. He graduated primary school at eleven years old, finishing sixth grade of with high scores and a remarkable art talent. However, with the focus of schools being primarily on strict subjects and preparing the youth for a more business like side of the world, Kaoru found himself very unhappy with the process of things.
He lashed out at his father, eleven years of pent up emotions and anger finally flowing over. His father, however, dealt with it quickly and efficiently. Jin fired Shiori, the only person Kaoru had ever formed a serious relationship with, and then packed Kao up and sent him off to an all boys boarding school. He was twelve at the time, twelve when he meet the person who was going to become his best and closest friend, Yinn. They were roommates, who developed a close and fast friendship, both having a similar interest in the arts. They formed the kind of friendship where it was rare to see Yinn without Kaoru trailing shyly behind him. Yinn invited Kaoru over to stay with him and his family during breaks, so Kao wouldn't have to go back home and deal with his cold and distant father during the breaks. The three years of middle school they spent together, and it was only the two of them in their own world. They attended the eleven required courses together, taking all the same classes, they played sports together, did art together and hung out in their door together. They were fourteen by the time they finished the middle school, and were fortunate enough to be admitted to the same boarding school for high school.
Kaoru was fifteen when he realized that the feelings of friendship he'd had for Yinn had changed, in fact they'd grown and expanded into something more than that, something far deeper. However, Kaoru was no fool, he was rather observant in fact. And he realized while homosexuality was accepted technically in Korea, it was still considered a widely taboo subject. It wasn't something you told your family, your classmates or your co-workers. So Kaoru didn't, he hid his feelings away, and continued on with the treasured, and only friendship he had. Instead he dated around, considering himself bisexual for many years. He was sixteen the first time he got a tattoo, a practice illegal in Korea unless you went to a doctor, since it's considered a medical procedure. However, he like most youths, went to an illegal underground tattoo parlor. And after his first tattoo, he felt a rush unlike anything he'd previously experienced and he felt better. So from then on whenever he was rejected or had a failed relationship he got a new tattoo, and when he was seventeen, he experimented with piercings, and found it provided a similar rush. And in time he'd acquired a great deal of piercings and tattoos.
He graduated high school along side his dear friend at seventeen, and the two began attendance at Seoul's Institute of the Arts. And for once he was doing something his father encouraged, his father's was happy to see his son had gained his love of the arts. It was the one and only connection the two of them every possessed, but it was hardly enough to ever repair ... or even jump start their shattered relationship. A few months into their first year of college and Kaoru ran into Yinn in the Itaewon district of Korea, with a rather attractive young male. He was astounded, and after later speaking to Yinn he discovered the man was in fact bisexual, now over the years Kaoru had realized he was not in fact bisexual but simply gay. He spoke to Yinn about this, but kept the feelings he possessed for the male a secret, not wanting to ruin over six years of close friendship and near brotherhood. A year later however found Yinn grieving over the end of a year long relationship when he discovered his lover cheating on him. Unable to take seeing his friend so depressed, Kao once again spent all his spare time with the young man. And a few weeks later, on a rainy evening he found he couldn't take it any longer and admitted to Yinn the love he had for him. However Yinn, hurt from his year long relationship's fatal end was hesitant to have trust in anyone and instead of opening himself to the idea of a relationship with his dear friend, rejected him. And the to make things worse began to act coldly towards Kaoru, seven years of friendship ended on a fatal mistake. Kao withdrew into himself once again, he smiled and acted in public, but as soon as the semester ended he decided to transfer schools. After speaking to his father he decided he'd either go to his mother's native country or to England or America where he could put his skills in language to some use. Eventually he found Emerson Academy and applied there, his father footing the bill. He figures a new place, far away from home, a new beginning.
Ryuuji was bored, as usual, and when he was bored trouble usually brewed. Not by any fault of his own... naturally. He'd driven across the town to the College, looking for Joshua. He'd swung by the house where his friend lived to no avail, and he wasn't at work, so logic dictated that Ryu would find his friend somewhere on the college campus. Swinging off the motorcycle, the for once well dressed young man adjusted his tie awkwardly. He didn't like dressing like this all that often. But he'd actually been meeting with his investors, the one's who made sure he always had plenty of money to do whatever he wanted. He had them in most countries. Taking off the helmet, the ancient Japanese vampire slid the sword beneath his jacket, he never let that thing out of his sight or reach, so naturally it would stay there.
He wandered the campus for about an hour before becoming more than a touch annoyed, apparently Joshua wasn't here either. Where on earth was his friend, he was booored!! And really, boredom didn't suit the mischievous vampire. Standing on the campus he inhaled sharply, nope... Joshua's scent was stale as can be. Well bloody hell... that sucked. What on earth was Ryu supposed to do now? A few minutes later he'd found something to do, a group of pretty college cheerleaders passed by and the infamous skirt chaser [well not just a skirt chaser, more often than not he'd been accused of flirting with anything with two legs and a fine ass... which was true], was flirting with them all with all the candor and cheerfulness he had to offer. Within seconds they were blushing and handing him their phone numbers, and he was smiling and making promises to call them. Which he would hold true to. But he'd play nice, like Joshua'd asked him too, and not drain any of the girls, too bad, they smelled rather nice after all.
A few minutes later, as he was walking back towards his motorcycle a rather odd scent caught his nose. Almost like a werewolves scent. hm... Putting his hands behind his head and interlocking the fingers together, the easy going vampire followed the scent, his curiosity winning out as usual. Sitting on the fence in front of the bleachers, he watched an attractive youth running his heart out. He was quick, not near as quick as Ryuuji was, but pretty damned quick. But his scent was peculiar, almost like a werewolf... but not quite werewolfish... weird. Sliding his sunglasses into his pocket, midnight eyes watched the kid as he continued to run around. He had a good strength about him, his muscle tone was good. Ryuuji could admire a human who was strong, even if he smelt almost dog like. Sighing he continued to observe the other male. Silently contemplating the scent that bothered him.
The youth noticed him, not usual since he typically stood out, though today all his tattoo's weren't all that visible, nor was his hair dyed a ridiculous bright shade and he was dressed all boring. Still he always looked good, there was no denying that in the least. "Yo, it's a rather... nice day, yes." He much preferred rain, it was nicer, easier to scare the humans and hunt when it was rainy. "You run pretty well, you a track star?" His eyes skimmed the youth, dark orbs flashing as he took in the sight, which wasn't a bad one in the least.
Hi, I'm KIZZY and I'm NINETEEN years old. I'm ECENTRIC [and damned proud]. This is my FIRST application. I found NO REGRETS, JUST LOVE from proboards.

- You forgot grade - Watch how often you start a sentence with “he” . - Your personality paragraphs could do with expanding. 60 words isn’t really a paragraph - Okay, I know this is nit-picky but the way you did likes and dislikes was a bit excessive. Good writing isn’t just about length, it’s also about knowing how and when to be concise. - You don’t really explain why he was ignored. Sure at first they were young and career orientated, but why did it continue? - I’m not too sure about Korea, but in most countries there is age restrictions to tattoos. - I’m sorry but killing off both parents and putting his sister in a coma is a little too dramatic - You not only go a dramatic path, but it doesn’t seem to affect him, he’s more upset by Yin.. - Emerson is a very selective school. Consider it almost an Ivy League. It’s hard for me to believe someone who’s only just moved from Korea has enough a grasp on English to get accepted to such a school.
