MEGHAN ALEXANDRA ANDREWS
Name: Meghan Alexandra Andrews Nicknames: Meg, Meggie Age: 21 Date of Birth: February 18th, 1990 Grade: college junior Program: Arts Orientation: Bisexual Nationality: American Home Town: Los Angeles, California Play by: Olivia Wilde
--- NONCONFRONTATIONAL Despite of how she behaved just two short years ago, Meghan Andrews is actually one of the most non confrontational people to ever walk this Earth. In fact, she sometimes prefers to drop off a friendship instead of actually calling out people on their behavior, to which she does not feel privy to seeing that she remembers her own not so fine moments. And even though it may seem that she would be quite easy to walk over because of her desire to avoid conflict at all costs, push her buttons and you will definitely have to face rage and indignity like you haven't seen before.
--- SEEMINGLY COLD AND DISTANT Such things will never be spoken aloud, for she could never to be so rude, masking it all with a somewhat distanced and hollowed smile. Perhaps the only manner in which to get even a remotely coarse response from Meg is to in someway pry into the intense privacy of her life; there are some things she makes note of not speaking about, and if forced or pressed to reveal such inner workings, she can grow quite flustered and defensive, dodging questions with shifting glances and furrowed brows. Never out and out telling someone to leave her alone or drop the topic, Meg will simply alter the conversational atmosphere to such a high degree of awkwardness that the person is uncomfortably forced to drop the subject and desperately left scrabbling to move onward simply to relieve the situation. This is the only way she actively shows any form of distaste.
--- INTROVERT Introverted to one of the highest and most extreme levels, Meg's shyness is not so much a trait as it is a preference. She intentionally keeps to herself, squirreling away in the dark recesses of her darkroom and remaining somewhat unapproachable, always giving off an air of disinterest that more or less keeps people at arms length. Should they actually attempt talking to her, she always remains polite, speaking nicely but in a manner of reluctance that some, much to her misfortune, do not always recognize. If forced to talk longer than just a few brief minutes, she'll offer a lame excuse and dismiss herself, hurrying off to a place of seclusion once more. Oddly enough she always manages to make friends. They are few and far in between but she tries very hard to maintain those relationships nurturing them with in strangely material fashion but keeps those people far enough that they never find out who she really is.
LIKES: Raging thunderstorms, photography, physics, coffee, English Bulldogs, her younger brother (despite of everything), old movies, jazz, cheese on her hot dogs, sales DISLIKES: Being the center of attention, piddling rain, snow storms, humidity, noise, drama, mosquitoes, hornets, fur, make up
Meghan Alexandra Andrews was born on an unseasonably warm afternoon four days after Valentine's Day in 1982. Her parents Stephen and Krysten Andrews doted on her and for the first three years of her life she literally had everything she needed or wanted. However, everything changed a few months after her third birthday when her brother Jackson, or Jack as Meghan called him, was born. At first Meghan wasn't keen on having a baby brother. Because she quickly realized that she wasn't as important to her parents as she used to be. However, she soon became attatched to him and was always constantly around him when she was little, and as he got older and was able to sit up himself and crawl Meghan would play with him, getting her dolls out and having a tea party, but Jackson was too young to understand or to play along. And despite Jackson not being the baby sister she'd wanted the bond that developed between them almost instantly was one that became strong and Meghan became protective of her little brother, always being told to be gentle with him.
Overall, she had a pretty normal childhood filled with all the things that children usually do these days. The summer she'd turned twelve Meghan found an old camera while rumaging through the attic at her grandparents house and was soon spending every spare moment in the darkroom her grandfather was all too happy to set up for her learning to take photos the old fashioned way. Her parents thought that it was a phase that Meghan would somehow grow out of, but she didn't. She continued to pursue it like she did other age appropriate activities. That seemed to calm them a little.
Megan's life changed again the year she'd turned seventeen. Her father was transferred from the FBI field office in Los Angeles to the Headquarters in Washington D.C. And despite the fact that Meghan was seventeen years old with both high school graduation and college approaching fast, he insisted that the whole family moved with him and start over in D.C. There was nothing Meghan could do no matter how much she begged and pleaded. She had to do what her father had said.
While Jackson was young enough to take to their new life in D.C like a duck to water, Meghan beccame resentful of her parents and the fact that she had to leave everything and everyone that she knew and loved and start from scratch in a totally different city and a totally new school. So she'd rebelled and started acting out a bit thinking that her parents would notice and that they would send her back to punish her. Which they didn't, of course. In fact, it was as though Meghan had disappeared all together. Someone else noticed though as it was at that time, in the beginning of her Junior year of high school that she'd met Jeremy.
He was a Senior, a few months shy of graduating. It was such a cliche that even now Isabella wonders how did he manage to win her over. But he did and what happened next was also a cliche. Before long Meghan and Jeremy were sleeping together and yet her parents did not notice anything that was happening with their daughter. But then somehow they caught on. Neither Stephen or Krysten liked Jeremy, thinking that he was a bad influence on her, and they were right. Meghan was soon drinking and staying out all hours of the night and even though her parents stopped her from seeing him she went behind their backs.
When Meghan was 18 she discovered she was pregnant. It came assurprise to her because she and Jeremy were almost always careful. But, once the initial shock wore off, she quickly came to a decision. She knew that there was no way she could raise this baby. She knew that her parents would resent ehr for the rest of all their lives if they ever found out about how irresponsible she really was. Meghan decided to go for an abortion and two weeks after discovering she was pregnant she made an appointment for the following week to have it done, never telling Jeremy or anyone, especially not her parents. She was surprised that they didn't find out.Jack did found out after finding the card for the clinic in the pocket of her jacket. He followed Meghan to the clinic and tried to stop his sister, but by the time he got there she'd already had the abortion. But Jackson had held out little hope that he'd be able to stop her, he knew his sister. She was stubborn and she wasn't easily swayed from something when she made her mind up. He could have told their parents about everything, but for some reason he didn't. And for that she was grateful.
After that ordeal Meghan calmed down quite a bit. With Jeremy out of the picture, she was able to pick her grades up and get the SAT score high enough to graduate from high school and go to college of her choice. And while a year ago she would have loved to go back to California, she chose Emerson , as far from Jeremy and everything that she had gone through when she was with him as it was humanly possible. It has taken her two years but she thinks that she may actually have accomplished just that, along with maybe starting to figure out whom she actually is a person.
Ariana was aware of the fact that her decision to follow Ioan's idea and move out of the Crewe household soon after her nineteenth birthday probably affected Seren the most. After all, while they weren't really twins, despite looking nearly identical for the first five years of their lives when their mother insisted on dressing them alike, they had that strange mental connection that only twins seemed to share. Sure they drove each other crazy at times, but the truth was that despite all the differences that should've kept them apart and despite the fact that Ariana sometimes felt that Seren treated her like a living and breathing diary, the two of them were probably the best friend the other one of them will ever have. After all, Ariana was one of only a handful of people who knew how to handle Seren.
One of the purposes of this afternoon was for Ariana to find words to reassure her sister that, even though she had moved out of the house, she was still a part of the family. She just needed a bit of breathing space to find out who she was outside of the "one of those Crewe girls" label that seemed to be attached to her as the family grew. Plus, it was time that Seren, who seemed to be quite comfortably ensconced in the Peter Pan i-don't-want-to-grow-up stage of life realized that growing up was a part of life and the sooner she gets used to the idea, the better.
Still, Ariana couldn't help, but smile as her sister ran up to her looking every bit as a child who got separated from her mother at a grocery store and complaining that Ariana moved and she couldn't find her. She knew that game well, and even if she thought that Seren should have dropped it a long time ago, it was ac tually quite comforting.
"Well, you've managed to find me, so everything should be alright in your world." Ariana said, though she wondered whether while speaking about moving Seren wasn't referring to her moving out of the house. Thankfully Seren, who sometimes seemed to have the attention span of a rodent, appeared to be content now that the two of them were together at the same place. After making a few choice comments about the offerings of the stall the sisters were at currently she focused on something and soon was holding up a bangle for her to inspect.
"Well, of course..." Ari chuckled. Sometimes, she wondered whether she shouldn't start calling her sister 'Magpie' since shiny objects held the equally strong powers over her. " Maybe I will, later. But right now, I think we should talk about...well, you know."
