--- CALM Sloane does not to let her emotions get the best of her in certain situations. She does not like to wear them on her sleeve and it is uncertain if that stems from trying to maintain a private lifestyle or something else. She has a very nonchalant attitude about a variety of things. She wants to come off as a strong and independent woman. However, her calmness can be a front because there are moments where she wishes that she was able to just yell out or do things that are out of character for her. When dealing with her emotions and trying to process things that are going on in her life, she tends to do it internally. She does not want to let people down or burden them with her problems, so that is why she tends to try to overcome things quietly in her own mind. That is not good because alot of things can start to get bottled up inside and just waiting for her to explode.
--- HEADSTRONG Even though Sloane never really likes to lose her cool, that does not mean that she is going to allow anyone to walk over her. Her mother tried to instill in her that it is important for a woman to be able to stand up on her own two feet. Sloane tends to make decisions on her gut feeling. She will think out a plan and analyze it, but in the end, she will go with what she think is the right way to go about things. That can get her into situations that she might not want to be in. Being headstrong can also be equated with stubbornness. Sloane sees things in one way and will not try to deter from that path, no matter what is placed in front of her. She also will try to do things in her way only, which can lead to her not being as open-minded as she clams to be.
--- FRIENDLY This might seem like one of those touchy-feely character traits, but Sloane actually is extremely personable. She has a knack for being able to bridge the gaps between different groups of people. She is able to walk and start a conversation with someone that she doesnt know and she tries to make it not awkward at all. She also will stand up for someone when she thinks they are being bullied or taken advantage of. It just sort of that savior/heroine mentality in her and that is another thing that could get her in trouble, if left unmanaged

It all started when a young member of the English nobility went to an art auction in the ritzy Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid, Spain. It was there that he met the love of his life. She was presiding over the auction and she was probably only twenty-five at the most and he had just matriculated at Oxford University and was planning to start graduate research at the London School of Economics. When her brown eyes felt on his elegant blonde and blue eyes, she was sold. They went out for a drink and after that, they were connected for the rest of their life.
After a few years together, give or take three or four, they had a daughter by the name of Sloane in their spacious flat in Madrid, but then his family called for him back in Oxford and he packed up his new family and headed to the luxury and comfort of his family estate in the English countryside and this is where Sloane’s history really begins. Being an only child had some of it’s perks and also some of its downfalls. She did get all of her parents’ attention and did not have to vie with anyone else for it. Her mother would place the love for painting and the violin into her mind through their little art sessions in the family’s rose garden behind the house. Her father would place her love for government and economics through sharing his work and also playing with the young child. Sloane was able to pick up so many things very quickly.
Her life was filled with happiness and perfection at times, but she still felt moments where she did not feel like she belonged. She could see how her father’s noble duties were pulling him farther and farther away from her and her mother had started to lose her charm over the years, becoming a slightly cold society type.
Why Emerson?
When Sloane was thinking about schools to go when she had completed her A-Levels, her grandparents and her father did push for her to go to Oxford. But, after a while, she wanted to see new places and she also knew that her destiny was to be a painter or maybe do film in some sort of aspect. But, her friend told her about Emerson and she was like, why not Philadelphia cant be that bad right.
Each new day starts about exactly the same way as it did before for Celeste. She would wake up usually on her own around 6:45 and then she would hear the sound of her iHome alarm clock going off at around 7:15 even though she had been sitting in her bed for almost an half and hour already wide awake. She never knew why she woke up like that on the spot, it was like something within her body was telling her that it was time to get up and take on the new day. Come to think of it, she had been that way ever since the event that happened, when her father was still alive, when her mother was still living her secret life in the shadows and Drew and her had long conversations. The twins still have long conversations but never in English, it is either in French or Spanish here and there and it is often in whispers amongst the two of them. So, that would mean Cece had been waking up on her own volition for about six years now.
Things really change you, there are certain events within people's lives that can have profound effects on who they are and how they carry themselves. That was one of those events. Cece was able to move past it, well that is what she told her therapist, but she was able to show a different side of herself. A new side that put up more walls and allow for herself to be cocooned within this emotional prison. It was the best way to deal with things that went on in her life.
But, with each new thing in life, we must adapt and move on. That is how Cece tried to attack the new issue at hand and that was living in Santorini. She remembered like it was yesterday when her mother told Cece that they would all be moving to Santorini to live with her new lover, well husband, not lovah anymore. Cece at first was hesitant because she had graduated from Oxford and was trying to be a writer or some combination of a journalist. But, when her mother said that she needed the emotional support, in the end, Cece just decided to go along with that.
Greece was a beautiful place and dont get it wrong, she loved living in the villa that overlooked the caldera. Her balcony looked out on one of the most beautiful rooms ever, but it was still sort of a prison in her mind. As the ceiling fan in her room lazily spun around, Cece listen to the distant waves crashing at the rocks below. She got up and walked over to her vanity and gave a small sigh and began to prepare for the day. She had a few errands to run in town and she wanted to get everything sort of out of the way. She heard a distant knock on her door and she turned around and said “Yes, you can come in”
In came one of the maids that her Greek billionaire stepfather had at their disposal. Ughh, how Cece loathed that man. The maid placed a tray of croissants, cantoloupe, and juice on a small table near a sofa. Cece walked over took a bite and then changed into her clothes. After she rushed downstairs, did not say anything to her mother, she was out the door. She placed her Ray-Ban wayfarer shades on her face and plugged her I-Pod into her ears, Cece was off. She was taking in everything about this small little town, it was something about it that both irked her, but she also loved it.
She also knew that this town was a naked one where there was about a million stories that went down and it would seem to all happen right here and there. She wanted to be able to capture them both in writing and in photography. She took out her little Nikon camera from her Longchamp tote bag and took a picture of a vendor and a little girl. Cece was very connected with the arts and it was something about photojournalism that really spoke to her and why not in a place like Greece, where some of the sights are truly breathtaking.
She seemed to take everything in with a shutter here and there
In order to avoid the things that were going on in her life, Cece took up things to ease her mind. That is how she graduated from her boarding school early and got through Oxford early. She was the type of person who could thrive in both settings. She could be with a bunch of people and sort of be the life of the party and then she could also be in solitude by herself and thrive that way as well. She took leisure in the simple things in life. She loved the sound of music when she played the viola, she loved the look of the scenes that she took with her Nikon camera and she loved the prose that she constructed from her words here and there.
The pages of her journals were something of masterpieces in her mind because it was the places where she stored all her thoughts about everything. She thought that a part of her will would be to have all of her journals to be published as part of her memoirs. It would be a nice way to leave sort of a legacy about her life behind. But, would that make things a little bit harder or easier for the people that she left behind. In the end, she did not really care at all about that.
As she walked briskly across the campus that early morning, she had been keeping herself busy, since she arrived in Santorini. She told everyone that she liked to be busy, but the real reason was so she did not have to stick around the house all day, where she would have to speak with her mother and look at that horrid man's face. She loathed him for dragging her to this prison, but she was going to make the most of it and not really care about it in the long run. As she always thought about things pertaining to life, you should be able to make the most out of alot of things.
Along with interning at the Santorini World, she had gotten in touch with an English professor at the university and was doing some part time work as teacher's assistant on a digital journalism workshop class that was being offered. She really liked being able to help some students understand the wonders of the internet and how it can be helpful and a massive aid in terms of reporting on good stories. It was in this class that she can in contact with her. There was one particular student that sort of rubbed Cece the wrong way, it was Kamryn La Croix. The girl was known around the small island as the type of girl who thrived on awkward situations and controversy. She liked to speak her mind, but in her reporting, Cece just saw a little bit of a disconnect. So that was why she was running across campus to her small little office in the lecture building to have a meeting with Kamryn about one of her grades.
Celest got there before the young lady and unlocked the door to her office, she opened up the curtains in her office to look out on a small courtyard and she opened it up to let in some fresh air. The office was about the size of a small dormitory and really could only fit in a desk, a few chairs and a bookshelf. On the walls, Cece had adorned them with art and photos she had taken, mostly in black and white, of her times in Argentina and Africa. She was reading an email on her MacBook , when she heard the knock on the door and she said with a smile: "Come on in" she said with a smile, "And take a seat"
She was really ready for anything that was thrown at her.
